Currently, Stripe payment link requests collect a one-time charge but don't reliably save the card for future use. Clients often don't see or don't understand a "save this card" option, so clients think they have saved it for future use when they haven’t. This has consistently been a problem for every single client I’ve sent a link request to in the last week. I end up having to manually add the cards or having to send multiple separate card-setup and payment links.
What I'd like: A single payment link that (1) collects the payment upfront, and (2) clearly offers to save the card for future auto-charges. The save option should be prominent and obvious — not buried or optional-seeming. After the client pays, their card is on file and ready for the next invoice.
Why it matters: This would streamline client onboarding and reduce manual card entry. Right now it takes at LEAST two steps (setup link + payment link) or defaults to manual workarounds. VERY FRUSTRATING. Clients don’t like being bombarded with requests to input their credit/debit cards on the internet!
