🌍 Payments for International Practices
We're scoping client payments for practices outside the US, starting with the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Today, our payments stack is built around US tax requirements, currency, and Stripe defaults that don't translate cleanly to other regions.
What's coming: localized invoice formats with the right tax fields and registration numbers, currency handling that matches how clinicians actually invoice in their country, and the ability to integrate with the payment rails practitioners in those regions actually use.
This is in early scoping, so timelines are still loose. We're talking with practitioners in each region to make sure what we build matches the reality on the ground, not a generic international veneer over the US system. I am a UK based Integrative Psychotherapist and have just joined Upheal for clinical note consolidation but see their platform offers much more in terms of practice management. I have clients in the UK but also internationally via zoom and am currently using Zanda as a practice management platform.
However their inability to enable ApplyPay has frustrated my clients, who understandably wish for as little friction as possible around the admin of therapy.
What can the UpHeal team do to resolve this for the rest of the world of therapists who need this to work seamlessly?

Billing for non-US Users
Please separate administrative billing from payment processing for international practices!
As one of your early European customers, I am continuing to advocate for a feature that I believe would significantly improve Upheal’s international adoption.
I completely understand that enabling integrated payment processing outside the US is a substantial project involving different payment providers, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
However, administrative billing tools shouldn’t have to wait for payment integration.
Right now, the entire Payments section is disabled for non-US practices. This means we cannot even use features such as:
Invoice generation
Session-based billing
Superbill generation (many international clinicians, including those of us working with privately insured clients, still need these)
Basic payment records, even when payments are collected externally
Many of us are perfectly happy continuing to collect payments via bank transfer, Stripe, Revolut, Wise, or local payment systems. We simply need Upheal to generate professional invoices and keep billing records connected to our clinical documentation.
This would make Upheal a much more complete practice management platform for clinicians outside North America while the more complex payment integrations are being developed.
I suspect this would unlock value not only for clinicians across Europe, but also Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Latin America, and many other regions.

Client Payments in Czechia 🇨🇿 and Europe 🇪🇺
Enable Client Payments in Czechia and Europe, please! There are many more EU providers joining and we would like to accept client payments end-to-end with invoices and payment flows that match local requirements.

Would love updates on where things stand with enabling at least invoice + superbill generation feature for EU clinicians. The entire Payment section has been disabled for us, but we have been requesting that at least the invoice generation be activated.

Hello I would like to be able to invoice clients in multi currencies including UK and Australia. I currently use another system for invoicing. I would like to have the ability to create custom invoices matching to appointments. I do not want to use a payment processor. Agree with previous post that most clients use direct transfer rather than a payment processor. If the system had this then I would be more likely to transition the services.

Hello, I am based in Australia and would love to see this expedited. This is the only remaining feature that is stopping me from being able to fully migrate over to Upheal. It’s also one of the main reasons I don’t use many of the great new features you have released. For instance - their is no point me using the Upheal calendar and booking features if it doesn’t lead to invoice generation. I have to use another platform just for bookings and invoicing.
Is it possible to release custom invoice generation without payment processing? Most of my clients pay via direct transfer anyway. This way, whilst you navigate and setup the payment processing systems for these extra regions, we can at least have some way of having our work flow fully contained within Upheal.

e-transfers integrated for payment
The cost of credit card services is crushing for many small practices. e-transfers (direct bank to bank with email or text notifications) is extremely common, and ofter a no-fee service for both the sender and recipient. This payment form integrated into booking (including payment at time of booking) is a massive win for providers and cleints alike (particularly those clients who may be financially challenged and no access to a credit card)
