You have Emotionally Focused Therapy among your modalities, but you might be unaware that there are two separate wings to this school. The first was developed by Leslie Greenberg (Emotion Focused Therapy) and an offshoot was developed by Sue Johnson (Emotionally Focused Therapy). Upheal seems to be working with Sue Johnson’s model (very popular), but seems ignorant of Les Greenberg’s (the O.G.). Great texts for learning Greenberg’s model are: Case Formulation in Emotion-Focused Therapy (Goldman and Greenberg); Emotion-Focused Couple Therapy (Greenberg and Goldman); Learning Emotion-Focused Therapy, 2nd Ed (Elliot et al); Transdiagnostic Emotion-Focused Therapy (Timulak and Keogh); Changing Emotion with Emotion (Greenberg); and Shame and Anger in Psychotherapy (Greenberg).
