Gamification

  • It would be AMAZING if you could help us ADHD clinicians out by making notes even less painful. (So many private practice therapists have ADHD!) I’ve been playing this stupid yarn game where my brain gives me dopamine for clicking on images to fill adorable little baskets with specific colors of yarn. This stupid game is hard for me to put down. Here are some general ideas.

  • Make it an option to remove the split screen in session notes so you don’t see the Overview-Transcript-Analytics

  • Allow each section within a note to be checked off and give a reward (a spool of thread for a basket, a bead for a friendship bracelet, part of the food needed to feed your Upheal pet - - the Tamagotchi generation is here)

  • Put the sign note option at the end of the session note, so you don’t have to scroll to the top

  • Give the option to move from completing one note right into the next incomplete note on the calendar

  • Anything that reduces the number of steps involved (scrolling to top, going back to sessions page and scrolling down, etc.) reduces the executive function tax of the work

  • Anything that gives small rewards and interest to reduce stress and make it a more enjoyable activity also helps!

  • I would love to go to my home page or sessions page and see baskets of crafts that I can take to market, because I finished that many notes. Or I can see a puppy running a playing for every note I finished!

  • Big rewards for treatment plans. Those are brutal, even with the assist my brain does not like them.

  • Thanks for reading all this!
