Improve AI Progress Measurement Toward Treatment Goals

I appreciate that Upheal relates each session back to the treatment plan. This is one of the platform's strongest features.

I recently learned that the progress percentages (for example, 50% or 75%) are AI estimates generated from the current session transcript and treatment plan rather than objective clinical measurements.

I have two suggestions:

  • Consider replacing percentage estimates with qualitative descriptions such as Minimal Progress, Moderate Progress, Significant Progress, or Substantial Progress.

  • Alternatively, make percentage estimates optional and allow clinicians to choose their preferred style of documenting progress.

An even more valuable enhancement would be longitudinal progress tracking. Rather than estimating progress primarily from the current session, the AI could analyze previous session notes along with the treatment plan to identify meaningful trends over time. This would provide a more clinically meaningful representation of treatment progress.
