Write Session Notes Without AI
We're adding the ability to write session notes without any AI involvement, so you can document sessions the traditional way when AI isn't the right fit. Whether a client hasn't consented to AI, you're documenting a crisis session that wasn't captured, or you simply prefer to write certain notes yourself, you'll have a clear path to do that inside Upheal.

Adding chart notes
Hello, I have a suggestion for the chart notes. There is a tab for "new chart notes." Can I suggest that "sessions" ” as one of the options?
Sometimes there is a note that needs to be added…. could be for a session that wasn't put into the calendar, or didn't upload from the previous EMR…

Thank you for this suggestion. We’ll soon add the ability to create progress notes manually (without using AI), which should fully address your need.

Client opposes use of AI
I have a number of clients who do not consent to use of AI in sessions. Is there a way to have Upheal as an EHR but not have our sessions recorded or will I need to stick with an additional EHR to support that?

@Diana Vo Thank you so much for sharing this. We understand that having clients who do not consent to AI can be a significant concern, and it’s important that you can still rely on Upheal as your EHR in those cases.
The team is already planning a way for clinicians to document sessions without any AI involvement, so you can use Upheal even when clients opt out of AI. We expect to start working on this very soon and aim to have the first version available in about 8–10 weeks.
