AI-Generated Discharge Summaries and Clinical Letters
We're adding the ability to generate clinical documents directly from your session history and client summary. Starting with discharge summaries and clinical letters, Upheal will draft these documents using the data it already has, including session themes, treatment progress, and diagnosis, so you review and finalize rather than writing from scratch.
Discharge summaries will pull from the full arc of treatment to produce a comprehensive overview. Clinical letters for disability documentation, court requests, or referrals will draw on relevant session details and your client summary to give you a solid first draft. You'll review, edit, and approve every document before it goes anywhere, the same workflow you're already used to with session notes.

Discharge summary
I went looking for a discharge summary a few days ago. A feature that can look over notes and generate a discharge summary would be very useful.

Yes!!! It does not make sense that this isn’t a feature.

Letter generation based on client summary
It would be great to be able to generate official letters (or at least an outline or template) based on the client summary, for the purposes of a disability claim, other legal matters, medical interventions or referrals, social services requests, etc.

is the discharge summary something we can modify to fit what we need it to say?

You can achieve this already today by using our Upheal Assistant. You can find it in the bottom right corner and just ask it to generate a discharge summary of a selected client for you.

so how do you add that directly to their chart then once the assistant creates it?

Hi just checking in to see the status of this. I attempted to create a note for my client with the Upheal assistant. It worked great, until it came to the signature, as it was not able to add my digital signature. It did instruct me to print and sign on my on, or copy and paste, but that was too tedious. I am hoping this update would come sooner then later.

Discharge Summary
It would be great for this to create a discharge summary based on the documentation that is already in the chart when a client leaves or completes treatment

working with adolescents in multiple levels of care requires this all the time. I find I am often having to review all notes or downloading all the notes to get an arc of treatment compared to interventions. We need to be able to identify what is working and not working. This needs to be integrated with assessment scores to reflect possible masking. Both clients and guardians have a very different rapport with therapy when we are honest about movement and non movement.
