Recurring sessions now have end dates 🔁

Recurring sessions can now end on a date or after a set number of sessions. You can also set custom repeats and get a warning before you double-book.

More flexible repeats

  • End a series on a specific date or after a set number of sessions

  • Create custom repeats, like every 2 weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays, or monthly by date or weekday

  • Change one session or this session and all after it

Double-booking warnings

  • Conflicts show in the session drawer before you save

  • Upheal checks the whole recurring series, not just the first session

  • Review the overlap, or choose Book anyway if it’s intentional

The same options work for recurring time off.

End dates were one of your most requested features, so thank you to everyone who asked for them. Have another idea? Share it here or see what’s on the roadmap.

Get paid automatically after every session 💳

Clients can now save a card and have it charged automatically after each session, so you don't have to collect each payment yourself.

How it works

  • Charges run on their own: at midnight after the session, or once you sign the note. You choose which in your billing settings.

  • The right amount for each client: the session fee for self-pay clients and the copay for insured clients. Late cancellation and no-show fees are supported too.

  • You approve anything extra: a balance left after insurance is only charged once you approve it.

  • A limit on every charge: each client has a per-charge limit, set by default to your highest service price. Anything above it is invoiced instead and never charged automatically.

How clients opt in

Clients sign the Automatic payment authorization form. You can send it from their Billing settings or the Forms tab, or during intake. In the form, clients save their card and agree to the per-charge limit. They can also choose to get an email 10 days before every charge. They can withdraw authorization at any time from the Billing tab in their Client Portal.

Where to find it

  • Billing settings → Automatic payments: set it up

  • Payments → Automatic charges: see and manage every charge

Set your working hours once and use them everywhere 🗓️

Until now, you set your hours separately for every service you offer, so a change to your Tuesday meant updating it in several places. Availability puts your working hours in one place: build a schedule once and reuse it wherever you need it.

What you can do now:

  • Create reusable schedules: set weekly hours and a time zone for each schedule.

  • Add several locations to a schedule: include up to 10 places, whether in-person, video, or phone. When clients self-schedule, they choose where to meet, and the session picks up that location's address or video link, place of service, and modifier.

  • Assign schedules to services: apply a schedule to any service, with different hours for each provider if needed. New appointments pick up their location from the schedule assigned to that service.

  • See your practice hours on the calendar: your calendar now opens to your practice hours. Time outside your schedule is shaded grey, and time off keeps its stripes.

Designed for group practices

Admins and practice managers can manage practice-wide schedules, while each provider can manage their own hours.

Find it in Settings › Scheduling › Availability.

What's coming next?

  • Self-scheduling for new clients: prospective clients can book a first session with you directly.

  • Practice-level self-scheduling settings: booking settings you manage once for your whole practice.
