Attach handout files to session summaries

Add attachments to Session summaries Allow attaching handouts and files directly to session summaries instead of only being able to supply clients with links to resources. Resources developed for client usage could then be attached to the summary rather than sent separately through the chat portal.

Automatic scoring of administered assessments in patient notes

Automatic Scoring of Measures Add the ability to use dot phrases (like in Epic) to auto-populate scores from administered assessments into a patient note. Also add the ability to include administered assessments as an encounter and have these automatically scored as part of the progress note and/or patient chart. Add this to UpHeal functionality.

Default note template per service type and session type

Set Default Note Template by specific service types and the session type. For Example: Intake & Individual vs Intake & Couples then Therapy Session & Individual vs Therapy Session & Couples Allow setting a default note template based on the specific service type and the session type, so different combinations can have different defaults. For example: Intake & Individual vs Intake & Couples, then Therapy Session & Individual vs Therapy Session & Couples.

Clinician confirmation step for client-scheduled sessions

Add a feature where a session scheduled by a client is treated as a request that the clinician must first confirm or deny before it is booked.

Show insurance claim submission status in Sessions tab

Sessions Tab Needs The Sessions tab works well for quickly reviewing what has been signed or not signed, but it does not show which sessions have had a claim submitted with insurance. There is currently no way to distinguish whether every required task has been completed, so the tab should indicate claim submission status alongside the signed/not signed information.

Client account flagging that blocks new bookings

Feature Request: Client Account Flagging and Booking Block Add a feature to flag a client's account with a customizable reason, which would block them from booking new appointments (both via client self-scheduling and when scheduled directly by the provider) until the flag is resolved. Use Case & Workflow: Outstanding Balances: Prevent clients with unpaid invoices or past-due balances from scheduling further sessions until their account is settled. Policy & Procedure Violations: Allow therapists to block clients who have violated practice policies (such as repeated late cancellations or behavioral issues). Custom Reasons: Provide a text field to write in the specific reason for the block so other administrative or clinical team members have context. Override/Resolution: Once the outstanding balance is paid or the policy issue is addressed, the therapist can easily clear the flag to restore normal scheduling access.

Auto-trigger form re-signatures on a schedule

Add the ability to toggle on automatic re-signing of a form at a set frequency, so signatures can be renewed on a recurring schedule (for example, GFE).

MCP bridge for accessing own and client data

Develop an MCP bridge so that access to the customer's own data and their clients' data is more efficient.

Payment & insurance report with filters

Feature Request: Payment & Insurance Report Filters Add a report for Payments and Insurance in Upheal where practices can filter, sort, and review payment and insurance information based on specific criteria. Requested filters: Date / Date Range Session Date Payment Date Insurance Payer Provider / Clinician Client Payment Status – Paid, Pending, Unpaid, Denied, etc. Claim Status Payment Type – Insurance, Client Payment, Copay, Deductible, Coinsurance, Self-Pay, etc. CPT / Service Code Information to include in the report: Client name Provider/clinician Date of service CPT/service code Insurance company Amount billed Insurance allowed amount Insurance payment Client responsibility Copay Deductible Coinsurance Client payment received Remaining balance Claim/payment status Date payment was received

Autosave notes as they're being typed in AI draft

Autosave notes every few words while they are being typed in the AI draft feature, instead of saving only at some later point.

Configurable reminders for unpaid balances with payment link

Add a feature that sends an unpaid balance as a payment link or reminder as often as needed. The customer references SimplePractice, where reminders for unpaid balances can be sent with a custom reminder setting per client, whether it be: 1 day 2 days 3 days 7 days every other week (custom) Options should be offered for how often the client is reminded about unpaid balances, with a choice of texts or emails or both. When the client pays through the link sent in the email, it should automatically show up in their file as paid, and then the reminders will stop.

Option to add a second email address for clients

Add an option to store a second email address for a client, for cases such as minors, spouses, or sometimes the secretary. The customer notes this was discussed a while ago and no update has been heard since.

Sliding scale and write-off balances should show as zero

Updated billing/balance For clients with a sliding scale or a write-off, the remaining balance still shows in their account. If a client is charged $150 but the regular charge is $200, the remaining $50 always shows in the balance as the amount he owes. The balance should instead show as zero in the client's account.

Custom date range filter on paid claims report

The paid insurance paid claims report should allow selecting a custom date range instead of being limited to the current date options.

Show insurance paid amount on paid claims report

The paid insurance paid claims report lists only the billed amount, not the amount the insurance payor actually paid. The report should show the revenue received from each claim and by which provider, since that is how providers get paid. Filtering by provider already exists and should be kept.

Stop AI summaries from minimizing domestic violence wording

Domestic Violence Descriptions The Upheal AI described a client's childhood experience of his father's violence toward his mother as: “violence between his parents.” This description makes it sound like the violence was mutual. It was not. Train the AI to avoid such commonly used but inaccurate and minimizing and problematic phrases (ie; “parental conflict,” “violence between partners,” etc.). It's not “conflict,” it's assault. It's not “between,” it's “toward.” As in, “father's violence toward mother.” The submitter specializes in working with victims of domestic violence (among other things).

Signed notes flagged as unsigned during claims submission

Claims Are Being Flagged for Unsigned Notes Even Though Notes Are Already Signed When filing an insurance claim in Upheal, an alert states there is an issue that needs to be resolved because the clinical note needs to be signed, even though the flagged notes have already been signed. This creates an unnecessary additional step and makes it appear that something is incomplete when the documentation has already been properly completed. Once a note has been signed, the claim should recognize its signed status automatically and should not require this issue to be resolved again.

High Priority

File claims with practice owner's NPI instead of clinician's

Clinician NPI and Taxonomy Code Required Every Time a Claim Is Filed Every time an insurance claim is filed in Upheal, the filer is prompted to enter the treating clinician's NPI and taxonomy code. Claims for the practice should be filed using the practice owner's NPI and taxonomy information instead of the individual treating clinician's. Requiring the clinician's information creates an issue during claim submission, has to be addressed repeatedly on each claim, and may result in claims being filed incorrectly or denied. Requested fix: remove the requirement that asks for the individual clinician's NPI and taxonomy code when filing a claim, so claims are submitted with the practice owner's NPI and taxonomy information to help ensure they are filed correctly and avoid unnecessary claim denials, making the billing process more accurate and efficient.

Autogenerate superbills monthly on a chosen day

Auto-generate superbills on a day each month that the clinician chooses, to save time.

High Prioritypractice management

Auto-populate note with preselected billing code/session type

Billing code for session type automatically gets connected to the note When scheduling sessions, the billing code/session type chosen at scheduling should automatically carry over to the note itself. Currently it does not transfer, so the session type has to be added manually before signing, and it is frequently forgotten — the note then has to be unlocked after invoicing to correct it. This is especially problematic for clients who do not allow recording, where the diagnosis also has to be added. Additionally, the place to add the session type in the note does not seem to connect with the billing codes preselected for the client, so that has to be corrected again as well.
